TNVR for Community Cats

A feral cat (also known as a "community cat") is an unsocialized cat. They may  live in colonies near a food source and breed prolifically unless spayed or neutered. These cats are typically not suitable for rescue and adoption due to their wild nature (though kittens caught at a relatively young age and properly socialized can be).

Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) is a program for reducing the population of feral cats through natural attrition. In TNVR, cats are humanely trapped, spay/neutered, vaccinated, and returned to their outdoor homes. CARE Feline TNR is a non-profit organization in the Central Florida area that works in partnership with Orange County government and other low cost spay/neuter organizations to operate a TNR program. Appointments may be made online and several convenient locations are available.  Please visit their website  for more information.

Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) also offers a TNR program for Orange County FL resident.  The Animal Services TNR program is free to Orange County residents for up to five cats per household. The Animal Services enforcement team takes lead on the program and will set the trap and transport the cat(s) to and from the clinic. This program is best suited for smaller populations.
