Update - Jan 8, 2013 -- Toby (aka Shy Boy) has been adopted -- thank you Pam & Christy!!
Hi, my name is Shy Boy. And as my name suggests I am very, VERY shy with people. So shy that my foster mom considers me to be a "special needs" kitten as I really need that extra special someone who will understand and be patient with me. I was terrified when my foster mom first received me but not because I was "feral" or unsocialized but due to all the scary changes and environments I'd been thru before making it here. I'm not hissy or in any other way aggressive or lashing out in my fear instead I would stay absolutely still and at first opportunity scurry away to hide under the first piece of furniture I saw. But after about a week of gentle handling I was confident enough to at least not scurry away and instead would stretch out in my foster mom's lap to have my belly rubbed! And I really do like my belly rubbed! I'm still quite shy and easily spooked but have grown confident enough to play a little with my foster mom. And now I'm much quicker to purr while being stroked. So lots of progress made and really hoping to be adopted by that special someone who will understand and be patient with me as I gain confidence with them. I will be so worth the extra time & attention!!
I'm not shy at all with other kittens or cats. And I'm litterbox trained and don't scratch furniture, instead I like to stretch my front paws on a sisal twine scratching post and on the Turbo scratcher. I'm an indoor kitten and prefer to remain so, protected from hazards of the outdoors. And I'm so ready to go home with my own very special someone! Could that be you?
