Hello, I'm Sweet William, and I'm a big chonky boy with a sometimes gruff but *very* lovable personality. I really enjoy being around people and would make a great buddy for someone who wants a loyal companion. Now, I'm a little standoffish at first with new people, but once I've got to know you, I'll be your best friend.

It took me about a week to warm up to my foster mom and now she carries me around the house slung over her shoulder and gives me kisses on my cheeks! Sometimes when I'm wanting more attention than I feel that I'm getting I will give "love bites" but never hard, I just really like attention. I was a stray boy for a while, and someplace along the way I got neutered in a TNR program (Trap Nueter Release), so that's why I have a clipped ear. A nice lady who was feeding me realized what a sweetie pie I was and brought me to Kitten School foster home, where I am now.

They took me to the vet, who said I was very healthy even though I do have FIV. This is a virus that a lot of us former tough street cats get from fighting, but as long as we get good care and nutrition, we can live healthy, normal lives. There's a fact sheet on FIV attached in the photo gallery. FIV is not contagious through sharing a litter box or food bowls, or even grooming, but through deep bite wounds. It would be best if I lived as an only cat or with other FIV+ cats to be safe.

My lonesome, wandering days are over and I am now ready to be a snuggly companion with a person (or persons) of my very own. If you're looking for a friend to watch movies with, someone to snooze on your desk while you work, or just need a loyal and strong buddy to be there when things go bump in the night, then lets meet!

Reach out to Caroline, my foster mom. Her contact info is below. You can arrange to come meet me (but warning, when you do you will fall in love!) I am  ready to go home with you TODAY!
