Welcome to Kindness For Cats Inc!
We are a very small 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster organization that participates in the Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) foster program. We provide temporary nurturing homes for at least a few of the countless kittens and cats abandoned there, and attempt to find permanent loving homes for these kittens and cats so they will not have to return to OCAS when their time in foster care is done. For pictures and descriptions of some of the kittens and cats that we currently have for adoption please click on the "Kittens & Cats" tab at the top of the page.
Kindness For Cats also promotes spay / neuter, the key to combating the heart-wrenching problem of unwanted pet over-population and so many deaths of healthy, friendly kittens & cats. And we believe that education and information for responsible pet owners is also a key. We created this website in part to provide resources for those seeking information on a variety of cat topics. We hope you find our website interesting, informative and helpful.
Please note:
Kindness For Cats is a foster organization and is unable to take in kittens and cats outside of the Orange County Animal Services foster program. We are a very small group of volunteers who foster kittens & cats from OCAS and came together to form Kindness For Cats in an attempt to reach out to more people to find permanent homes for the kittens & cats in our care. We focus our efforts on the kittens & cats at OCAS because we feel this is where the greatest need is in our community due to the thousands of kittens and cats euthanized there yearly.
We still receive requests daily from people asking for assistance with their own pets or strays and we are not able to respond to all so have created resources on this website hoping to assist that way. Please click on the Resource tab at the top of this page for a list of resources that may be of help to you. Among the resources/information provided are:
Suggestions if you need to give up your own pet or looking for assistance with found kittens or cats
Report animal abuse / neglect
Information/assistance with "community cats" (feral cats)
Low cost spay/neuter
And if you want to do more for homeless kittens & cats, a resource page for starting your own rescue nonprofit!
